Program Summary
The Center for Professional Development is a NADAP program specializing in professional training, technical assistance, and program design consulting. CPD develops and delivers training to workforce development and social service professionals. NADAP also provides technical assistance to agencies through evaluation of service delivery followed by strategy recommendations to improve performance and outcomes. Program design consulting focuses on the development of service components to address funder requirements, increase productivity or improve outcomes.
Professional Training
Trainings are designed to provide practical, effective strategies that can be readily applied to address the needs of job seekers, including those with challenges to employment, and agencies delivering services to these individuals. CPD provides training that is innovative, adaptable, and provides new information to the professionals in the fields of vocational rehabilitation, workforce development and chemical dependency treatment. CPD strengthens professionals’ skills by disseminating the most current research and resource information available for application based on proven experience.
Technical Assistance
Technical assistance is provided by CPD staff with expertise in workforce development, case management and other social service specialty areas. CPD staff work closely with client agency administration and their staff to improve service delivery and outcomes. Based on program goals, CPD evaluates operations, analyzes outcomes and recommends strategies with realistic interventions to improve program performance and achieve targets. NADAP staff draw upon best practices to assist programs in meeting objectives and help organizations perform optimally.

Program design consulting provides expert assistance in developing a wide range of activities from entire program operations to individual program components that enhance services.
